Upcoming Events & Tastings

Wine Tastings are informal and are not seated. Reserve your spot and join us during the appointed times up to 30 minutes before the event ends, and you will be able to taste through the full lineup.

Wine Classes are seated events, and are usually limited to 10 people per class. Please try to arrive a few minutes before class begins in order to get settled and allow enough time to fully explore the wines.

Cheese and/or charcuterie will be offered to pair to the wines.

Please refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes, lotions, or body oils to these events. Competing fragrances can alter your perception of how the wines smell and taste, and we want to showcase them as they’re meant to be!

Call 504-227-3888, stop by the store or, sign up online to reserve your spot!

MISA Imports Tasting

This is a free event!

POSTPONED due to weather. Date TBD.

Registration is not required, unless you want us to send you a reminder.

Carole Decouard the National Vice-President of Domaines and Estates for MISA Imports will be paying us a visit on Wednesday, January 22nd from 4:00-6:30pm for a free tasting featuring wines from her portfolio. She is a wealth of information and insight and we are happy to welcome her to the store for this event!

We will feature mostly red wines, especially from the Rhône Valley but will also include some Burgundy and a Sancerre under $30 – we thought those didn’t exist anymore. Many of them are new wines to the store even though some producers may be familiar.

The lineup is as follows:
Raimbault-Pineau Sancerre 2023
Domaine des Granges Pouilly-Vinzelles 2021
Domaine J. Boulon Beaujolais Supérieur Vieilles Vignes 2023
Henri Latour et Fils Hautes Côtes de Beaune Rouge 2022
Domaine Poulleau Père et Fils Chorey-lès-Beaune 2022
Domaine Palon Vacqueyras 2022

Ain’t Dere No More Red Bordeaux Tasting

We all know the concept of ‘ain’t dere no more’ in New Orleans and we’re leaning into it for this tasting. We will feature two wines that are no longer being produced, one of which will be a five vintage vertical! The other will also have the current wine being produced from the same vineyard.

Château Lalande-Borie in Saint-Julien has been part of the Ducru-Beaucaillou lineup since 1970 when the Borie family purchased 18 hectares of vines from Château Lagrange. They added some land to this over the years and used the Château as a place to experiment with various techniques before putting those practices into place at Ducru-Beaucaillou. 2018 was the last vintage under the Lalande-Borie label but the wine continues on as Le Petit Ducru de Ducru-Beaucaillou. We will taste the 2020 vintage of that wine along with the 2014 Lalande-Borie.

The main event here is the five vintage vertical of Les Grandes Murailles in St-Emilion. We bought a little of this a few years ago and fell in love with the wine. We bought a case of each vintage that was available on our last order from France and are happy to be able to share the wines before they disappear forever. Sophie Fourcade managed the estate, and its tiny 1.46ha vineyard, until it was purchased and annexed by neighbor Château Clos Fourtet. Her last vintage was 2021. The vineyard is planted to 100% Merlot with 7,500 vines per hectare – a very high density – which leads to more complex and interesting wines. We will taste her 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019 vintages.
