| BARGAIN BONANZA! –a closeout event Thursday, Friday and Saturday June 12th-14th While others have been running down their inventory for the slower summer months, we have been buying! We have more than 30 wines to offer at significantly reduced prices. This sale will begin at 2pm Thursday, June 12th and continue Friday and Saturday from open to close. Instead of emailing a list of wines and prices, we’ll be opening bottles. This is obviously much more fun for all concerned and lets you try before you buy! There are a few wines from our current inventory we are reducing to make room for new selections but most of the wines are recent additions with this sale in mind. If you missed the January sale, this is how it works. We’ll open a few wines to start things off and after that if you buy the last bottle(s) of a wine you get to pick the next wine we open. This approach was a big hit in January and we managed to find enough good buys that we can do it again! Most of the wines are in low inventory (less than 2 cases) and some have less than a case available. 2025 Carnival of Rosés Thursday, Friday and Saturday June 19, 20 & 21 Free Event! ![]() Our annual Carnival of Rosés will be happening the following week, Thursday, June 19th through Saturday, June 21st from open to close. We will open a bottle of all of our still rosés over the three days. This is a free event and a great opportunity to find your favorites for the summer months! Some rosés are a bit delayed this year due to big tariff threats but we will have a few new arrivals before the tasting. We’ll post pictures on Instagram as bottles get opened so you can see what’s available, but come by anytime, we’ll have lots of options. Click to Request a Reminder! A few of our FAVORITES that are BACK IN STOCK! ![]() Hippolyte Reverdy Sancerre 2023 As classic as it gets and, comparatively, the price has stayed fairly consistent. ![]() Mary Taylor (Luc Poullain) Touraine Sauvignon Blanc & Chenonceaux 2022 An old favorite and a new one. The Touraine needs no further introduction, it is a remarkable buy and impressively Sancerre-like at a very not Sancerre price! We introduced the Chenonceaux in our last newsletter but received less wine than we ordered and promptly sold out. It is a more serious style than the Touraine and a much better wine than some of the others we have tried from the appellation. ![]() Poulleau and Manciat are back in stock. 2023 vintage for both. Fresh and bright and forwardly fruited, the Poulleau needs a bit of air to shake off some ‘grapey’ youthfulness but in 15-30 minutes you see more of its Volnay sourcing – velvety, with some power. It is not on the shelf yet but it is in stock, just ask for it and we’ll get it to the shelf soon. The Manciat has a new label but is true to its Macon roots – pretty red fruits with underlying limestone minerality. If anything, the 2023 is more succulent than the 2021 vintage which was a huge hit. |
NEW FINDS ON OUR SHELVES
Sylvaine & Alain Normand Mâcon La Roche Vineuse 2023

A relatively new domaine, it was founded in 1993 by two people who met in wine school in Beaune and later married. This is their first vineyard; there is a large limestone outcropping here giving minerality to the wine which is often lacking in Mâcon wines. While the local co-op sometimes bottles as soon as the January after harvest, the Normands let the indigenous yeasts take their time fermenting the wine which sometimes lasts until the summer. This results in more complexity and a more engaging wine. Certified organic by Ecocert in France.
Claude Manciat Mâcon-Charnay ‘Sainte Juste’ 2021
Marie-Pierre Manciat (5th generation) makes the wines now and we’re thrilled to have found some 2021 vintage to share with you. The crisp, classic vintage plays well with the broader, almost creamy, Mâcon fruit. From 25-60 year-old vines, with no oak. The town of Charnay is just east of Pouilly-Fuisse and offers a similar style for a bargain price compared to its more famous neighbor.
A mouthful of a name but also a delightful mouthful of wine:
Quinta de Santiago Monção e Melgaço Vinha do Chapim Alvarinho 2022
This is from Portugal but close to Rias Baixas in Spain. The variety is spelled differently but it is the same grape. The winery is based in Vinho Verde but Joana Santiago’s main focus has been Alvarinho. Chapim is a single plot next to the family house. This is a serious wine that offers a journey if you can resist guzzling it down immediately. Lots of peach, a shade of earth and a hugely long finish that has lots of granitic minerality. If you like Albariño from Rias Baixas you need to try this wine!
